Website Design

Your color theme is important because I said so. Just joking, it's actually a good idea to have a consistent color theme throughout your website that makes everything clear and easy to read. If I'm honest with myself I don't think JREAM has the best color theme because most people like to read information on white. I know I'm stubborn and don't want to change it because I like it so much, but I've asked a few people and they find it easy to read, so I'll stick with it :) It's probably not the best attitude to have but I like it so much and it's been my theme for a while! Maybe I'll make a sacrifice eventually if I get greedy for visitors.

Readability

Contrasting your background and text is so important. A big no-no is when you use a detailed background texture, non-bolded text -- which you may think looks together, but it's so hard to read. Some sites I go to I have to actually highlight the text to read it. In my opinion, you should make your text and background difference in color as black is to white by whichever colors you use. Why would you spend a whole lot of time typing and building content that nobody can read!

Noticeability

Since your text is the content most people look for your design needs to play nice. It's a great idea to make your headers and titles in bold, larger, or give it an underline, different than the rest of the content. This is so people clearly know where they are. Nobody wants to waste time reading a long article only to find out it was the wrong one so let them know you mean business and you make the point bold!

Color Themes

Instead of spending my time listing good colors you can use a generator or themes:
